Salary: Band 2 £18,383 - £20,015 per annum, pro rata

Strathcarron [email protected] service is looking to strengthen its bank staff capacity by recruiting Bank Care Assistants to deliver care in the last weeks of life in people’s own homes - across the Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth area.  

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for hospice care and would like to take the hospice model of care into people’s own homes at the end of life.  

Preferred candidates should:

  • Have experience of working in a Hospice In-patient Unit or equivalent expertise in care of the dying.
  • Be experienced in providing practical, emotional, social and psychological support to individuals at the end of life as well as supporting their families and carers
  • Be registered with SSSC or achieve registration within first 6 months of role.
  • Be qualified or willing to study towards achieving the qualification required by the SSSC for ‘workers in a care at home’ service (HNC Social Services or SVQ Social Services and Healthcare at SCQF Level 6)
  • Have the ability to be flexible in order to meet the needs of the service – which will be provided over seven days and day/night.
  • Be comfortable working on your own and as part of a wider professional team
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have experience in working in community settings
  • Be able to work in isolation
  • Be able to travel independently to provide care across the community. (Full UK Driving License is essential).
