COVID-19 update We are still here for our patients… And will continue to provide our services throughout these difficult times. Not surprisingly, we have had to modify our activities: The Inpatient Unit will remain open and we are asking for only immediate family members to visit and only to do so if they have no symptoms of coronavirus. If you are visiting, please use the hand sanitisers at the entrance and go directly to and from seeing your loved one without spending time in our café or reception area. We will lock our front entrance at 8.00pm daily, unless by specific arrangement. Our [email protected] service will continue and our staff will wear appropriate protective equipment. Our Community Clinical Nurse Specialist team will visit or telephone patients, depending on whether they are self- isolating or high risk. Our Day Care Unit is now closed for face to face contact but we will stay in regular telephone contact with our patients to support them. Lymphoedema is currently operating as usual, but we ask any patients with coronavirus symptoms not to attend. We will not be running the forthcoming children’s bereavement sessions. Our adult bereavement service may be modified but we will be in contact with each individual using the service to discuss our ongoing support. Compassionate Neighbours are being encouraged to stay connected with their contacts via phone or video messages and to reach out within their own neighbourhoods. During the month of February 2020, £204, 603 was received through our Fundraising department. Unfortunately we are already experiencing a decline in income to just £60,382 during this month, and with many future fundraising events being cancelled this worrying trend is set to continue. Your financial support has never been more vital in keeping our services open during this crisis. Just £20 can pay for one hour of nursing care at the Hospice. Text 'Strathcarron £20' to 70085 to donate £20 today or donate online now. We are at the end of the phone on 01324 826222 and would be happy to hear from you if you have any concerns.
