The closure of the Strathcarron Hospice shops on and off for the last year has had a devastating impact on the fundraising abilities to continue and expand our services as demand increases.

In a ‘normal’ year, profits from the collection of shops sits at £500,000, which in real terms can cover the cost of our Clinical Nurse Specialist Team, who care and support people in their own home, as their illness or condition progresses, thus helping to reduce admission to hospital. With more people than ever reluctant to be admitted to hospital, this service has come under more demand than ever during the pandemic.

In light of the above we are absolutely delighted with the re-opening of the shops this week and, so far, customers are excited to be back and have been delighted with their purchases! Of course, we are also so excited to have volunteers back in the shops serving the customers. For full details of all opening times please visit Our shops | Strathcarron Hospice

For those of you who don’t feel quite ready for the ‘in life’ shopping experience, we have a fantastic new range of Hospice 40th anniversary items for sale on our website. To commemorate this special occasion a bespoke tartan has been created by a local designer, Claire Hunter, taking into account the snowdrop flower and the blues of our logo. There is a range of limited edition pieces, ranging from key fobs to scarves. At the moment availability is online only at the website address above but the range will filter into shops in due course. Please celebrate our 40 years of caring by treating yourself to a special little gift, whilst supporting the Hospice at the same time. 40th Anniversary Merchandise | Strathcarron Hospice
