As we seek to develop the shape of our workforce, we are currently looking to appoint an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) or a Trainee ANP to join the Hospice Team.

Working initially in the In-Patient Unit and as part of the IPU on-call rotation, you will have the opportunity to stretch your career in a clinically focused direction. As this is a new role for the hospice you will also have the chance to trail blaze, shape and develop the role.

You must be a highly motivated, clinically experienced RGN, have considerable experience in hospice care and hold a Masters degree relevant to palliative care. You will need to have a sound clinical knowledge and highly developed clinical decision-making skills. All applicants should possess the ability to be flexible, prioritise fluctuating workloads, remain focused and work across a variety of teams and be able to lead / implement change.

For a trainee ANP there is a requirement to complete a recognised advanced practice course commencing in January 2020 (including Advanced Clinical Examination, Non-medical prescribing and Advanced Clinical Decision making). Access to training and peer support is built into this post through NHS Forth Valley and clinical supervision will be provided from Strathcarron Hospice.

The ANP will progress to be a full member of the IPU out of hour’s on-call rota, including responding to IPU cover overnight and at the weekend. This includes being able to attend the IPU when required within maximum of 45 minutes.

The post is subject to a check by the Protecting Vulnerable Group Scheme.
