On Christmas Day 2022 my Mum passed away at Strathcarron Hospice after just 4 months of learning she had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. During this time she had been in Forth Valley Royal Hospital and The Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh with her final days spent in Strathcarron Hospice. While the NHS staff did do what they could, the whole family feel that the staff at Strathcarron Hospice went above and beyond to help all of us, not just Mum. Because of the way we were all treated during these few days I really feel I want to give an extra thank you to the staff. I cannot put into words how much they did for us. Nothing was too much for them to do to help us through this. Even after Mum had died, they spent good time helping us deal with that initial shock and explained what happened next. They helped Mum remain comfortable and as pain free as she could be while retaining her dignity.
With your help, I can hopefully reach a target of £500 to help them carry on this amazing work with so many other people that need it at such a crucial time. Phil Trevis
