I am participating in Swamp Challenge in aid of Strathcarron Hospice. My journey with Strathcarron Hospice started when I was a volunteer when I was at school, I knew then that palliative care was what I wanted to do when I left school, Since then I have been a nursing student and then a bank nurse at the Hospice, being there has shown me the kind of nurse I strive to be and the care that everyone deserves, because I believe that people should not only die well, but live well until the end of life. My nana had respite care at the Hospice, My mum received support from the Hospice Macmillan nurses when she was diagnosed with her Lung Cancer, they have supported myself and my dad and brothers all through my mums illness and then I had councilling from there bereavement service after my mum died, they have also provided bereavement councilling to my son when his Wee grandad died. Strathcarron Hospice not only care for the patient, they care for all the family member also, we all become part of the Stracarron Hospice family. Strathcarron Hospice relies heavily on donations and fundraising to stay open and provide the excellent service to everyone that comes through their doors. Please donate to my page no matter how little or big a donation as every donation helps.
