We are proud to confirm that Strathcarron Hospice is an official Gold Charity partner for the 2018 Stirling Scottish Marathon - and we would like YOU to be part of Team Strathcarron! This iconic race is returning with a brand new route, and Team Strathcarron will be running to raise vital funds to help us provide our specialist palliative care services to people living with life limiting conditions in Forth Valley, Kilsyth and Cumbernauld.

As a member of Team Strathcarron you will receive a branded Team Strathcarron running vest, two classes with Life Fit Wellness to help you be as prepared as possible, and all the fundraising support you need. The first Life Fit session, Running Conditioning, on 6th January will deliver a range of exercises to develop the appropriate strength and control necessary to maximise your running gait, as well as minimising the risk of injury as you progress through your marathon training plan. As your mileage increases, muscles often get tight and sore - the second session, Running Recovery, on 10th February will show you how to stretch, roller, trigger and self-massage to relieve those tight bits. The Life Fit team will also be joining us in the charity village on the day to provide post race massage for our runners - this was exceptionally popular with our 2017 runners!

We are asking all of our Team Strathcarron Stirling Scottish Marathon runners to commit to a personal fundraising target of £600, which will cover the cost of providing a [email protected] Nurse to care for one patient at home surrounded by everyone and everything they love, in their last two weeks of life. This would be an incredible gift to our patients and their families, and following on from the success of the 2017 Stirling Scottish Marathon we know you can help us do this!
