Sunday 29th April saw Team Strathcarron take to the streets of Stirling for the 2018 Stirling Scottish Marathon and Stirling Half Marathon - and what an impact they made, standing out from the crowd in those distinctive blue and orange vests! Over seventy runners took part in the two races to raise funds for Strathcarron, making as so proud as they smashed through their personal pain barriers and exhaustion to make it to the finish line. We were privileged to hear so many stories behind these marathon efforts as runners joined us in the charity village afterwards and received very welcome post race massage from the Life Fit Wellness physiotherapists who kindly donated their time to support our runners. Some ran in memory of loved ones who had received care and support from the Hospice, some because 'you just never know' and one very special lady ran because the Hospice is where she wishes to be 'when the time comes'. Our marathon runners were reinvigorated by the encouragement from our Strathcarron Supporters bus in Dunblane around the ten mile mark, with Hospice staff and volunteers and some especially enthusiastic cheerers from Alloa PSYV - we are reliably informed that support makes a huge difference! Falkirk Camera Club were at various points around the route capturing some amazing images which can be seen below - moments and memories of a special experience.

Every £24 raised by our runners will pay for an hour of nursing care at the Hospice for one patient, a truly special gift. Ever penny raised really will make a difference, helping us to continue providing the very special care our patients and their families deserve, so we would like to say a huge thank you to every one who ran, and to all those who supported them. You are all Hospice Heroes!
