How others are remembering their loved ones

Jackie Okey

Much loved Wife, Mother, Gran and friend, Jackie was the loveliest lady you could ever meet and will be missed so much by everyone who knew her. Sadly due to Covid 19 the many people who would wish to say their goodbyes to Jackie were unable to do so. The family would therefore appreciate any donations in lieu of flowers etc to be made to Strathcarron who were so instrumental and supportive in her care in the last few weeks. 22 Jul 1939 - 13 Jun 2020 Read more

Helen Barrett

My mother spent the last 10 days of her life in Strathcarron Hospice. She died from bowel and liver cancers. Her treatment and the setting were wonderful and second to none. My mother was a loving, kind and gentle lady. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness and sense of humour. Miss her every day 20 Sep 1920 - 07 Apr 2001 Read more

Norah Clark

Norah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She fought a brave battle against cancer since she was diagnosed in July 2019. Sadly, her fight was lost on July 21st this year. It was very difficult with the constraints of Covid, but her family all kept in touch and some were lucky to see her at the end. Instead of flowers, we would prefer donations to the hospice, to say thank you for the care, respect and consideration they showed her in her brief stay there until her sa 30 Nov 1936 - 21 Jul 2020 Read more

Jackie Bell

Jackie was full of life and fun and taken too soon from all of her many friends, colleagues and family who supported her through her journey with breast cancer. She and her family were so appreciative of the support she received from the Hospice, both as an out-patient and latterly as an in-patient in the last two months of her illness, that we would like to continue to raise funds for the Hospice, especially at this difficult time, when the Hospice has limited sources of support. 01 May 1962 - 22 Dec 2019 Read more

Catherine Anderson

My mum was the most amazing, brave and wonderful woman I've ever met. She was someone who lived through alot of sadness and tragedy yet never let it get her down. She always had a smile on and was there to help anyone before she helped herself. Even after being diagnosed with breast cancer she was more worried about how others were doing, especially my little boy. Callen was her little ray of light. They were always joined at the hip. Somehow a special relationship was forged between the two fro 16 May 1951 - 29 May 2018 Read more

Tom Bryson

Tom fought as a true warrior against the cholangiocarcinoma. He never lost the hope and he never gave up, fighting until the last second. Earth is a place for imperfect people to improve themselves, and Tom was perfect already. Probably this is why he had to leave us so soon. As I am from Brazil, I never imagined that a place like Strathcarron could even exist. They are not only concerned about the comfort of their patients but also about the living ones. I don't have words to describe how am 06 Sep 1962 - 18 Jan 2020 Read more

Mark Robertson

Mark was an open book he had a dry wit and huge heart. He loved family and friends dearly and after his diagnosis he said he had no regrets and left nothing unsaid. He left behind a massive hole in our lives but did it so bravely with his family at the centre of everything he did and we are so proud, but miss him every day. We cry because he is not with us but smile because he lived well and we have so many good memories to help remind us of all the good times we shared.
