Coronavirus (COVID-19) Shop Update

Information for our customers and donors

Strathcarron Hospice shops are currently closed

Following government guidelines, all of our shops and our warehouse are currently closed.

With this in mind we would ask that you please do not leave donations outside our shops while they are closed.  Any donations left outside could get ruined by the weather, cause a fire hazard or get stolen. We look forward to welcoming our customers back in store soon.

You can also visit our online shop, where we are selling a range of gifts in our shop n support page.

Please see below for a list of our shops:

  • Falkirk Furniture Shop
  • Stenhousemuir Shop
  • Alloa Shop
  • Bridge of Allan Shop
  • Kilsyth Shop
  • Denny Shop and Book Shop
  • Cumbernauld Shop
  • Melville Street Shop
  • Callander Shop

Donations

Safety is our biggest priority for our staff, volunteers, donors and customers, therefore we will update where and when we can take donations in accordingly.

We thank you for your co-operation and are looking forward to welcoming our much valued supporters in store.

Did you know that Strathcarron Hospice can sell items that you donate on Ebay.

Collectables, furniture, vintage clothing etc. are now sold worldwide where we have a customer base of more than 19 million people!

If you would like your items sold through ebay to generate funds for the hospice, please contact our Ebay Co-ordinator on 01324 638307 or at [email protected]

our ebay items can be found at https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/strathcarronhospice

We take pride in our Hospice Shops, which offer a wide range of new and quality used goods. We also have two book shops one in Cumbernauld and one in Denny as well as a shop in Bridge of Allan which specialises in selling only vintage goods and a Furniture Shop in Main Street, Bainsford, Falkirk.   We also have a Strathcarron Hospice Shop on eBay where we sell some of the more specialist and unusual items of donated stock which we receive. The Strathcarron Hospice Shops rely on the many donations of pre-owned goods we receive to stock the shops and in turn the Hospice relies on income from the shops to help to provide its services. You can donate goods and any one of our shops and the locations and opening times are detailed below. If you are a UK tax payer, you can also Gift Aid your donation which will enable us to receive a further 25% on the value of any item that we sell – just let the shop know that you are a tax payer and fill out a very short Gift Aid Declaration Form. If you wish to donate furniture and need this to be collected, please call 01324 635 267. Regrettably, we can only up lift items of furniture that are suitable for re-sale as there would be a significant cost to us if we had to take these items to a refuse dump.

What You Can Donate

Our shops are really grateful for good quality donations as stated below to help us raise vital funds for the Hospice.

  • Men's, women's and children's clothing.
  • Accessories including shoes, belts handbags and jewellery.
  • Quality homeware - anything from cushions to crockery.
  • Linens.
  • Books, CDs, DVDs.
  • Mobile phones and used printer cartridges.
  • Electricals (but please do check with your local shop before you donate these).
  • Furniture (with the fire retardant labels attached).

Unfortunately, there are a few things that we can't sell - damaged or broken toys, children's car seats or booster seats, child cot and pram mattresses.

Please contact your nearest shop if you are not sure if we can accept your donation and they will be happy to help.

Our shops are listed below the map, please follow the link to find the contact information or alternatively you can enter your postcode to find the one nearest to you.
