Hours: 8 Sessions per week  (With additional non-residential on call commitments of 1 in 5) 

Salary £43,246 - £80,643 per annum (pro-rata) + on call payments

Come and join the medical team at Strathcarron Hospice!  We are an independent hospice in a beautiful semi-rural location easily accessible from Glasgow and Edinburgh.  

We are looking for a fully registered doctor with at least four years’ post-graduate experience and an interest in palliative medicine to join our team of Specialty Doctors.  Previous palliative care experience, whilst helpful, is not essential as full training will be given and you will work as part of a very supportive team.  

We would also consider applicants who have just completed their two years' foundation training, for the position of Hospice Physician.  

The successful applicant would work 4 days a week (8 sessions) plus a non-residential on-call commitment of 1 in 5 to cover overnights and weekends.  

This position is temporary for an initial period of 1 year for maternity leave cover, we are flexible on the start date being either in August or September 2022.

Part time, 29 hours per week (4 days per week working every other weekend)

You must have well developed communication skills, be able to work well in a small team and be able to demonstrate your ability to relate to the public in a caring setting. 

Previous experience working in a catering environment is essential and preferably should also hold an intermediate food hygiene certificate. 

The working hours are 29 per week over 4 days working every other weekend, these will consist of a mixture of early 0700-1430 and late shifts 1100-1900. 

Training and supervision will be an integral part of the post holder’s development. 

The post is subject to a check by Disclosure Scotland.

We have an exciting new position for a Communications Officer at Strathcarron Hospice. In this role you will support the Communications Manager to develop communications and branding across all of the Hospice and our Subsidiaries.

Strathcarron Hospice is an independent hospice, founded in 1981, and is one of the largest palliative in-patient units in Scotland. It is located in the Scottish Central Belt, serving a population of nearly 400,000 in both urban and rural settings across NHS Forth Valley and the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth areas of NHS North Lanarkshire. 

We have an exciting new position for a Communications Officer at Strathcarron Hospice. In this role you will support the Communications Manager to develop communications and branding across all of the Hospice and our Subsidiaries. 

You will be an enthusiastic, team player with experience of leading and supporting successful communications using a mix of traditional and digital marketing and PR activities. You will have a strong experience in communications with the ability to raise the profile of the Hospice and improve the public’s understanding of what we do. 

Essentially for this role you will require strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to work under own your initiative and balance competing demands. 

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

You can confidently engage with range of people, including a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
