Strathcarron complementary therapist volunteers Annie Sharp and Louise Stevenson say they have gained a huge amount from the time they give back to the Hospice.

They both attend one day a week helping with admin duties.

Annie says: “My mum spent time in the Hospice and until then I had no idea how much goes on behind the scenes and how important it is to volunteer to keep the place running. Strathcarron is warm and welcoming and a really wholesome place to be.

“Volunteering has helped me with my own grief and to do something in memory of my mum, give back to the hospice and help other people in the process.”

Louise says: “You get a real sense of being part of a community volunteering here. I get so much out of it and you feel really appreciated giving your time. The services the Hospice offers are amazing and to know we are helping the wider work for patients and families there really is no other feeling like it.”

There are many ways to help and whether you are able to volunteer for a few hours once a week, once a month or even once a year, your time makes a big difference.

Each role requires different skills, strengths and time there will be a role that is right for you.
