Strathcarron Hospice has provided tremendous support to several of our close friends at their time of greatest need. More recently our friend, Pat Norman, was diagnosed with a terminal illness just a couple of months before the COVID pandemic struck and she passed away before the end of 2020. Despite the challenges of providing care during the pandemic the Hospice offered fantastic support to Pat and her family in those last challenging days.

We have undertaken long-distance cycle pilgrimages before in support of the Hospice and the MNDA, and Pat was one of our most steadfast supporters. Her constant enthusiasm and support kept us going during the hard days. It therefore seems to us that the best tribute we can pay to Pat is to undertake another pilgrim ride and use the challenge of the journey to raise funds in her memory to support the essential work undertaken by the Hospice.

Our effort has been delayed by COVID, and other minor health challenges of our own, but now we feel ready to set out on the Camino de Santiago once more but by a new Way. We plan to cycle the Camino del Norte from San Sebastián to Oviedo, and then head into the mountains of Asturias on the Camino Primitivo. It will be a demanding route, but that is as it should be if we are asking for your support. For us, where there's a will..... there's always a Way!
