At Strathcarron Hospice we recognise that Carers need support too. Although a caring role is inspired by love and a desire to provide the best quality of life possible for loved ones, the inherent challenges and responsibilities can often take its toll on the Carer. Whether we are in contact with you at home or whether you are visiting the Hospice, all of our services and staff are eager to support Carers as well as patients.

Our Carer Support Groups at the Hospice are about meeting others who are in a similar situation to yourself and about helping you to identify ways in which your well-being can be maintained. The small groups are facilitated by the Complementary Therapy team and though there will be an emphasis on topics such as relaxation techniques and managing your time more effectively, we want to hear from you about what areas of support you require to help increase your well-being and confidence in caring. The groups run over a 6 week period.

  • To gain most benefit we recommend that you come along to all 6 sessions if you can
  • There is no cost to attend
  • To enable you to participate we may be able to organise transport and/or someone to sit with the person you care for whilst you attend

Please contact: Jenny Gilbert, April McKinney or Anne Millard to chat over any of the above.

The service booklet with times and dates is available.
