Alice Douglas (nee Cassidy) passed peacefully at home on 5th January 2021. She is sadly missed by her family and friends.

Alice was a friend of Strathcarron, and tireless supporter since opening in 1981, before and after the passing of her husband Jimmy Douglas in Strathcarron on 30th April 1994.

Many will remember the dances and events Alice organised for Strathcarron. Alice was always happy to share stories about the support Strathcarron provides and about the several occasions she met with Princess Anne in Strathcarron, her photographs were never far away!

In lieu of flowers, Alice would want to help Strathcarron, and her family invite donations to enable the help and support that Strathcarron provides to so many people when they need it most.

We know she will be smiling, singing and dancing. Love and thanks from the Douglas family.

Every year, Strathcarron provides care and support to over 1,400 people with a life-limiting illness or condition, at a time when both they and their family need it most. The Hospice philosophy is about living until you die and Strathcarron ensure people have every opportunity to achieve their goals right up until the last moment.

As an independent hospice all care is provided free of charge and services include a 24-bed inpatient unit, Day Care, Hospice@Home, Community Nurse Specialists and Lymphoedema clinic. Strathcarron need to raise over £12,900 every day to keep these services running. Thank you for helping. James Douglas
