Consultant in Palliative Medicine

£91,474 - £121,548 per annum, pro rata

6 or 8 Sessions per week (Plus 2 additional sessions paid for on-call)

We have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant in Palliative Medicine to join us and contribute to shaping the future of our progressive Hospice.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing consultant input for patients living in the areas of Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth. You will manage patients in their homes, on the inpatient unit and on occasion support the hospital palliative care team at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Together with your four consultant colleagues you will strengthen connections with other local health care providers and develop the services required for this fast changing health care environment.

We have an established reputation as an independent hospice with excellence in clinical practice, research and education. We champion services like Hospice @ Home and an innovative Community Development Team.

  • who have submitted their CESR application and awaiting a decision from the GMC
  • a locum appointment would be made in the first instance with a view to becoming substantive
  • are anticipating gaining their CCT within the next 6 months

Applications are invited for the position's of Auxiliary Nurse to join the nursing team within the In-Patient Unit where you will contribute to the delivery of specialist palliative care services within Strathcarron Hospice.

Permanent

Part time hours available: 22.5 hours – 35.5 hours per week

Salary:  Band 2: £21,814 - £23,820 per annum, pro rata

Applications are invited for the above position to join the nursing team within the In-Patient Unit where you will contribute to the delivery of specialist palliative care services within Strathcarron Hospice. This role includes working various shifts including nights and weekends. 

We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring individuals to enhance our dynamic nursing team.  It is expected that you will have an understanding of palliative care and an awareness of the services of Strathcarron Hospice. 

The successful candidate will have well developed communication and interpersonal skills. Maintaining accurate and pertinent records is essential.  They will be confident in their ability to support patients and/or relatives to cope with the effects of progressive disease. 

It is expected that you have the ability to multi task and the flexibility to respond readily to the demands of the role. 

Previous Nursing experience and basic computer skills are desirable. 

The post is subject to a check by the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
