Strathcarron Hospice is a charity which provides free care in an inpatient unit and in people’s homes. The hospice supports people when their normal life has been disrupted by symptoms such as pain, fatigue, breathlessness and reduced mobility caused by their life-limiting illness. For the past 6 years I have had the privilege of working at the hospice as an Occupational Therapist, enabling individuals and their families to adapt their daily tasks and routines or adapt their homes so they can keep doing what they need and want to do as their illness changes.

Working in the hospice has shown me not to take my health for granted and to seize the moment rather than put off doing things I dream of doing. In that vein for my 50th I have signed up for a sky dive and want to take the opportunity to try and raise a few pounds for Strathcarron Hospice. Ruth Candy
