We understand that we are currently living in worrying and unprecedented times, especially for our patients and their families.

Please be assured that the wellbeing of all our patients, hospice visitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority and we are taking all necessary precautions to keep our services open for the people who need us most.

We realise that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is an extremely uncertain and worrying time for us all, but we would like to reassure you that Strathcarron Hospice will continue to follow the latest guidelines to keep everyone safe and make sure that we can continue to deliver our most vital services.

Covid-19 update: Visitor guidelines (updated 31 January 2022)

We are pleased to advise you of our current visiting arrangements at Strathcarron Hospice. These are in line with national guidance for hospice and healthcare settings.

Summary of new visiting arrangements

  • Current guidelines advise that each patient has a maximum of two named people as their visitors
  • Please make an appointment in advance of all visits. Call 01324 826222.  This helps us to ensure adequate physical distancing.
  • All visits must be up to one hour, please be mindful that patients need time to rest.
  • We ask all visitors to take a Lateral Flow Test before each visit and to wear a surgical face mask when in the Hospice. Face masks are available at Reception.
  • Trace and Protect forms are still to be completed on arrival and visitors will be asked a number of questions regarding symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Hugging and hand holding of loved ones are encouraged but with care, with the use of hand sanitiser. We do ask visitors to remain sensible to help protect themselves, their loved ones and our staff.
