Rain didn’t hamper play for the annual Strathcarron Hospice Golf Tournament last week with players raising a fantastic £13,700.

19 teams of golfers took part in the fundraising event at Glenbervie Golf Club with ‘The Drawshank Redemption’ coming out top as the winning team.

Generous event sponsorship from James Jones and Sons Ltd means every penny raised from the event can go directly to patient care.

Local businesses pulled out the stops to show their support sponsoring holes around the course including LifeFit Wellness, Summit Solutions Scotland, Print & Digital Sourcing, Bonnybridge Youth Football Club, Lomond Wealth Management Ltd, NM Legal, PM Solutions, People’s Ford and Crunchy Carrots.

Ainslie Mason, Events & Challenges Fundraiser at Strathcarron Hospice, said: “A massive well done to all the golfers with lots of previous players returning to take part and some new supporters for 2024!

“Huge thanks to the amazing Hospice volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly and to all the businesses and community who generously donated raffle prizes to help raise further funds for Strathcarron.

“A massive thank you to all our golfers who joined us to raise vital funds to continue our care for patients & their families - it really means so much.

“Thanks also to host Glenbervie Golf Club for their continued support of this event, golf professional Fraser Moore for finding time in his busy schedule to attend, Ciro's at Glenbervie for providing such tasty food, Life Fit Wellness for attending with their niggle clinic and Western Toyota Stirling for donating a Toyota C-HR as a weekend prize.”
