Love is in the air for many lucky couples this Valentine’s Day, and here at Strathcarron we will be helping our patients to make the most of this special celebration. There may be wine, flowers or dinner for two in a patient’s room – everyone has their own idea of the perfect romantic celebration, but what really matters is that couples spend the time together in the way they choose. For some it will be bittersweet if they face the knowledge that this may be their last Valentine’s Day together, but here at Strathcarron we live by the motto of ‘making every moment count’, and that is exactly what we will be helping our patients and their loved ones to do. Some people may also be facing their first Valentine’s day without their special someone and  - as with all occasions, like birthdays and anniversaries – this can be especially difficult, so our thoughts are very much with them all as they remember happier times with their loved ones.

Of course, Valentine’s Day is not just about romantic relationships – who else has fond memories of that embarrassing card on the doormat as a youngster that you just knew was really from mum or dad, even though they denied they were behind it? Memories that pull on our heartstrings and bring a tear can also be a comfort or raise a smile, so whether you are making new memories this Valentine’s Day or recalling more distant ones, we wish you a special day filled with love.

Have a good weekend!
