Wellbeing garden project is blooming wonderful Some of our staff and volunteers have been busy over the last few weeks working on transforming two of our outdoor spaces into wellbeing garden areas. This includes a patio area behind our dining room area and a wall leading down to our pond. BEFORE The hope is that patients will have the opportunity to be actively involved in the wellbeing garden areas as part of their goal setting should they wish to do so. Sandra who has been part of the staff working group for the project says: “There are so many mental health and well-being benefits to gardening and being outdoors. It has been lovely to see people enjoying the transformation over the summer and bring a bit of joy to people’s lives and help make our environment nicer for everyone. “There has been an emphasis on recycling, repurposing and reusing what we already had on site where possible. We would like to thank our volunteers particularly Bill and Liz for all their hard work. It has been great to see flowers and herbs growing and we even have spinach we hope the kitchen will be able to use.” AFTER We would like to thank all those who have donated plants and supplies for the garden including Tesco Extra Cumbernauld and Bonnyview Nursery, Larbert. Your donations are hugely appreciated.
