Lorraine's Story Fundraising Team Volunteer I started my volunteering journey with the hospice in 2024 with the fundraising team in the Hospice doing admin tasks when I retired and had some more free time. I worked in financial services before. My husband is a member of Grangemouth Rotary Club and I had heard a lot of good things about the Hospice through him. My mum and dad both passed away and wanted collections at their funerals for Strathcarron – they hadn’t spent time here but they spoke highly of it. Strathcarron has such a lovely feel about it - so welcoming and calm – a really amazing place. I feel excited to be part of that and doing my bit for the community. The amount of work that gets done in the Hospice is vast – I cannot believe how much work goes on behind the scenes – it is so varied and the teams all work so hard. I am really pleased to play a small part in helping the team and the wider work helping people that use the Hospice services. If you would like to discuss how you would like to volunteer at Strathcarron Hospice, please complete an Application Form or contact our Volunteer Service Co-ordinator Eileen Ashford on Tel. No. 01324 826222 Ext 271 or e-mail [email protected]. Eileen will arrange for you to come up for a chat so that we can understand how best to use your skills and expertise and what roles would be best suited for you. By volunteering with us you can make a real difference.
