National Palliative Care Guidelines

Telephone Advice

Telephone advice is available 24 hours a day from our specialist team, predominantly for professionals. In some cases the nurses working in the In-patient Unit will be able to help you. If the problem requires medical advice your call will be directed to a Hospice Physician or Consultant in Palliative Medicine.

Specialist pharmacy advice is also available from the NHS Palliative Care Pharmacists based at the Hospice during working hours.

This advice line is not to be confused with the NHS ‘palliative care helpline’ for patients, which is staffed by the out of hours District Nursing team.
